A laser tracker can support measurement of larger tooling, assemblies and equipment that would be difficult to bring to a conventional measurement laboratory. Suitability depends on feature access, line of sight, the required measurement scope and the working environment. Describe the geometry, reference features and engineering question so the approach can be evaluated for your application.
Provide photographs, approximate dimensions and information about access around the equipment or tooling. Identify work that may limit line of sight, as well as production schedules and any facility requirements for visitors. Agreeing on the relevant features and reference system before measurement helps the team plan where the instrument and targets can be positioned.
Define the dimensions or relationships that your quality or engineering team needs to review. Where applicable, provide drawings, reference geometry and acceptance criteria. A useful measurement scope connects the collected data to a specific decision, such as evaluating tooling position or reviewing an assembly. Report format and any comparison requirements should be discussed as part of the project scope.
Whether you need dimensional inspection, support for your CMM or equipment information, tell us about your application.
